Whitelisting Dune Security in Proofpoint
Necessary steps to take if your org uses Proofpoint to guarantee simulated email deliverability.
To ensure the successful delivery of Dune Security’s phishing simulation emails and training notifications, you will need to whitelist Dune Security’s IP address and domains within your Proofpoint environment. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for both Proofpoint Essentials and Proofpoint Enterprise users.
Whitelisting in Proofpoint Essentials

Navigate to Security Settings:
- Go to Security Settings > Email > Sender Lists.

Add Dune Security’s IP Address:
- Under the Safe Sender list, enter the following IP address:
IP Address: 52.201.210.35
- Under the Safe Sender list, enter the following IP address:

Save Changes:

Click Save to apply the settings.

Whitelisting in Proofpoint Enterprise

Access the Admin Console:
- Navigate to your Proofpoint Enterprise Admin Console.

Add Dune Security’s IP Address to the Organizational Safe List:
- Go to Email Protection.
- Under the Spam Detection drop-down, select Organizational Safe List.
- Click Add.

Enter Whitelisting Details:
- In the Proofpoint - Global Safe List window, enter the following details:
- Filter Type: Select Sender Hostname.
- Operator: Select Equals.
- Value: Enter the IP address:
IP Address: 52.201.210.35
- In the Proofpoint - Global Safe List window, enter the following details:

Save Changes:
- Click Save Changes.
URL Defense / Targeted Attack Protection (TAP)
To avoid issues with Proofpoint’s Targeted Attack Protection (TAP) service, add Dune Security’s IP addresses and domains to the URL Defense Exceptions list:

Access URL Defense Settings:
- Go to Email Protection > Targeted Attack Protection > URL Defense.
- Click URL Rewrite Policies.

Add the Following Exceptions:
IP Address:
- 52.201.210.35
Please refer to the list of Dune Security domains that was provided via email

Save Changes:
- Click Save Changes.
Prevent Emails from Going to Spam
To prevent Dune Security emails from being flagged as spam or quarantined, follow these steps:

Navigate to the Organizational Safe List:
- Go to Email Protection > Spam Detection > Organizational Safe List.

Add Dune Security’s IP Address:
- IP Address: 52.201.210.35
Allowlisting in Proofpoint Email Protection
To further ensure deliverability of Dune Security’s emails, allowlist Dune Security by IP address in Proofpoint’s Email Protection:

Navigate to Email Firewall > Rules:
- Go to Email Firewall > Rules in the Proofpoint Admin Center.

Create a New Rule:
- Enter a name for your rule, e.g., DuneSecurity Allowlisting by IP Address.

Enable the Rule:
- Set Enable to On.

Add Condition:
- Add the following IP address under Conditions:

Set the Delivery Method:
- In the Dispositions section, set the Delivery Method to Deliver Now.
